A midden is a rubbish heap. Rubbish is considered waste material. Bones can be considered as waste material, not wanted or deemed useful. In ancient cultures this was not so. In the Midden Vessel, the bones are turned inward to become useful and potent. The melted frit interiors signal a connection to the lunar influence on growth.
