The rolled cylinders with raised patterns on them represent scrolls of paper carrying written messages. These cylinders are joined to an organic root like structure. Through this integration of Nature and Culture a third metaphorical object is created and symbolizes the healing of the existing conflict between the two.

Clay was the archetypal material for early message writing. The mangrove roots are inspired by the mangrove trees I saw when visiting Queensland Australia in an area called the Daintree.
